Run for your lives! It’s Godzilla! OK, that may not actually be necessary, as the Godzilla in question is this tiny little chap. I’ve never met a dog so undeserving of a monster’s name as little Godzilla was the perfect client and barely let out a squeak, never mind a roar.
Godzilla’s owner took advantage of our pick up and drop off service, so after a quick journey back to the salon, it was time to set to work. Godzilla just needed a wash and tidy up this time around, so it was a lovely couple of hours. He was such a good boy and loved every minute, despite his grumpy but adorable face!
A short-haired Pug like Godzilla needs less attention than some other breeds, but should still have regular daily brushes through his entire coat to keep it free from matts. Baths should happen about once a month, otherwise they can get a bit whiffy. Godzilla’s coat was in good condition so he’s clearly a well looked after little chap.
The important thing to remember with wrinkled breeds like the Pug or the Bulldog is that their folds need very careful attention. The folded areas need to be cleaned and dried regularly. If these areas are neglected they can start to develop a fungal infection. Try using a damp cloth, baby wipes or cotton wool balls. Dogs with deep wrinkles may need to be looked at as much as daily in order to keep them comfortable and healthy.
We won’t see Godzilla again for a while as he spends most of his time far away from Weston, but if you have a gorgeous little Pug like Godzilla here and do live in the area, drop us a line and see how we can help take care of his grooming regime.
